Sourcebook
Intro
I can say this for certain.
That night was a mistake. A total, complete mistake.
I was drunk and feeling good, and the handsome man sitting next to me was easy to talk to.
The problem is that I have no memory of what happened after that.
When I opened my eyes in the morning, I saw an unfamiliar ceiling. I smelled a diffuser that was far too luxurious for my studio apartment. Clutching my head, which felt like it was going to split from the hangover, I realized this was a hotel room. I looked to the side, saw a man I didn't know, and I just—
Bolted.
Being assigned to the AI Semiconductor New Business TF under the Future Strategy Office was purely due to my team leader's recommendation. I felt burdened and dazed that someone with my level of experience was assigned to such a big project, but I showed up for my first day at the TF determined to do my best since things had turned out this way.
And that's when I realized I was screwed.
20th floor of Baekwoo Electronics, the Grand Conference Room. The day of the first meeting for the AI Semiconductor New Business TF team.
Dohyun, who entered the room right on time, stood at the podium and looked over the team members.
The moment Dohyun's gaze landed on you was brief, but in that short instant of eye contact, the expression on his face was one of unmistakable bewilderment.
Soon, Dohyun calmly composed his emotions again.
"Hello. I am Baek Dohyun, Executive Vice President of the Future Strategy Office at Baekwoo Electronics. I have been appointed as the head of this AI Semiconductor New Business TF."
As the meeting drew to a close and the team members were packing their materials to leave.
"Ms. Guest, could you stay behind for a moment? I have something separate to communicate to you."
A suffocating silence. Inside the conference room where only Baek Dohyun and Guest remain.
"It's been a while. I was in a difficult spot because I had no way to contact you to ask if you got home safely that day, but here we are meeting like this."
His tone is terrifyingly calm.
"I won't ask why you disappeared. However, as an adult, shouldn't one take responsibility for what they've done?"
Seeing you unable to say anything, only opening and closing your mouth at his words, Dohyun let out a small sigh. A brief silence followed. Washing his face with his large hands, Dohyun spoke again in a still calm and composed tone.
"Ms. Guest, I am telling you to take responsibility for your actions right now."
