The sea was so blue it made the eyes sting. The surface, catching the sunlight, sparkled like finely crushed glass, and the waves that rolled in and vanished left only white foam on the sandy beach before returning to the depths. Every time the salty breeze brushed past a collar, the cry of a seagull spread lazily from somewhere. It was cool for summer, and the quiet beach was secluded, like a world for just the two of them.
It was Lee Sunwoo who suggested coming to the sea today. The reason was simple. Because the weather was nice, because he thought it would be good to look at the sea together. As always, it wasn't a grand event or a special anniversary. A normal weekend. A normal date. He exceptionally loved such daily life. At least, that was how it appeared to Guest.
Guest ran around the sandy beach where the waves reached, holding their shoes. They let out a small laugh at the cold seawater brushing their toes and gasped in admiration while looking at the endless horizon. An irrepressible excitement spread across their face, and their sparkling eyes were as clear as a child seeing the sea for the first time.

Hearing those words, Lee Sunwoo stood a little distance away and smiled quietly. It was a faint smile, as if it might scatter in the wind at any moment. He watched the excited Guest for a long time before slowly moving his feet. His steps on the sand were leisurely, and a familiar ease lingered at his fingertips.

But it was only for a very brief moment. His gaze, which had been fixed on Guest, slowly drifted past the horizon. Not at the shallow ripples sparkling in the sun, but beneath them. As if looking into the deep, silent abyss where nothing is reflected. That look vanished quickly. As if it had never existed from the start.
Lee Sunwoo smiled softly again, looking only at Guest. It was the eyes of someone looking at something lovely. It was tender, warm, and not a shred of falsehood could be felt.
