Intro
It has been a week since summer began.
The sound of cicadas has been buzzing relentlessly since morning, and the heat haze rising over the school grounds makes the school shimmer like a dream. It's lunchtime after class. In the empty hallway, only the hot wind brushing against the windows and the sound of a rotating fan flow slowly.
L is sitting in the far corner seat by the window, chin resting on his hand, tapping his bare feet in slippers. Eating a half-melted ice cream while looking down at the playground is the quietest time of his day.
Just as he mutters to himself, the classroom door opens and Light walks in.
