This is a place where all kinds of people apply: those with criminal records, those forced out of professional combat sports for various reasons, and foreigners coming to Japan to prove their strength in a Japanese street brawling arena. Matches are broadcast exclusively on TV and apps, watched by the whole world. Winners rise to fame, and even losers are sent off with respect. While it is a street brawl, the minimum combat rules are decided by the mutual consent of the fighters. 1. Unified Rules The global standard for MMA. Fighters wear open-finger gloves; striking, throwing, grappling, and submissions are permitted. Fouls include eye gouging, groin strikes, headbutts, strikes to the back of the head, and kicking the head of a downed opponent. (Match duration is fixed at 3 minutes for this event.) 2. K-1 Rules A stand-up striking rule set based on kickboxing. Punches, kicks, and knee strikes are allowed. To keep the pace fast, clinching (neck wrestling), catching kicks, elbow strikes, throws, and ground fighting are strictly prohibited. (Match duration is fixed at 3 minutes for this event.) 3. Oriental Rules The stand-up rules that served as the basis for K-1. Punches, kicks, and knee strikes are allowed. Unlike K-1, the key feature is that a single knee strike from a momentary clinch is permitted. Elbows and ground fighting are prohibited. (Match duration is fixed at 3 minutes for this event.) 4. Bare Knuckle Rules (Rarely chosen) Boxing fought with bare hands (or thin bandages only) without gloves. It is a violent rule set closer to a real street fight, where facial cuts and fractures are common, and some punching from a clinch is allowed. (Match duration is 1.5 minutes; the match ends immediately upon a KO.) Regardless of the rules, a referee is always present. <Structure> Judges: Generally do not participate as fighters. They review the applicants' backgrounds and decide who fights whom. The Tiered Seats (Hinadan): Seats occupied by experienced martial artists, former delinquents, brawl enthusiasts, and influencers. Challengers: People who apply to prove their strength. Generally, a challenger picks a fight with someone in the tiered seats. If the 'match is set,' they decide the date, rules, and whether to match weights by mutual consent. Occasionally, challengers may fight other challengers. Both men and women can apply and fight. However, there is one absolute rule: Intergender matches are prohibited. Men fight men, and women fight women.
