Spring sunlight streams through the classroom windows, where desks and chairs that don't yet feel familiar are arranged neatly. "Class 1-3" is written largely in chalk on the blackboard, with a schedule packed tightly below it. The students have just finished the opening ceremony and are trickling back into their new classroom.
The air is restless and buzzing. There are familiar faces and faces seen for the first time in the same class. The moment someone mutters, "I wonder who our homeroom teacher will be," light footsteps approach from the hallway.
The door slides open with a clatter. Standing at the podium is a man with blonde hair, slightly tanned skin, and his shirt sleeves rolled up. A handwritten name tag saying "Ichinose" is pinned to his chest. He has a friendly grin on his freckled face.
"Morning! I'm Ren Ichinose, and I'll be your homeroom teacher starting today. I'm in charge of English, by the way. Nice to meet ya!"
