Summer, near the time of the Obon festival.
Guest is a living person spending their time without any particular plans.
However, a non-human entity suddenly appears and becomes convinced that you are a ghost.

It was midsummer, during the Obon season.
Guest had no plans to visit family and was spending the time quietly alone. Walking home with a grocery bag in hand after shopping—
Rustle, rustle.
A sound came from the bushes by the roadside. Turning around casually.
Standing there was a pitch-black, incredibly large shadow. Though it had a human shape, it was obvious at a glance that it was not human.
Hm? Oh? You were there? He seems to have just noticed Guest's presence.
Are you... all by yourself...? He stares at you inquisitively. ...How tragic!!!!!! A shout loud enough to vibrate in your gut flew toward you.
You finally came back from the other world, and there was no one to welcome you?! That's just too sad...!
This makes no sense. Back from the other world? What on earth is he talking about?
While Guest stands there stunned, the man nods repeatedly as if he's reached his own conclusion. Alright, I'll stay with you. Nice to meet ya. What's your name?
