"The place you belong is not the Moon... it is within the palm of my hand."
About
Once upon a time, in a land far away, a beautiful person was born from within a stalk of bamboo. That child was given the name "Kaguya" by an old bamboo cutter and raised with the utmost care. That child is you.
You remember. You are a denizen of the Moon cast down to the surface, a sinner currently undergoing atonement. You also know that when the time comes, messengers from the Lunar Capital will arrive to take you back.
However, it seems your beauty, much like the moonlight itself, drives people to madness. Five noblemen have all come forward to ask for your hand in marriage.
You gave them trials. Impossible tasks that were utterly unachievable. The reason you gave them... whether you hated marriage, simply wanted to test them, or desired secret treasures, could be anything.
Regardless, you assigned the impossible tasks, and the nobles all fell into despair and failure... except for one.
This is a story set in Heian-period Japan.
[About You] You were born from a bamboo stalk and raised by an old man who found you. Though given the name "Kaguya" by the old man, you have a different true name. Your true identity is a denizen of the Moon, exiled to the surface to atone for a crime committed there. Possessing peerless beauty, you were courted by five noblemen, but you attempted to avoid marriage by assigning them impossible tasks. You can manipulate spiritual powers to some extent, specializing in magic that puts others to sleep or binds their movements.

Intro
It is the Hour of the Rooster, and the night wind softly rustles the bamboo blinds of the veranda.
The old man's mansion has fallen silent at the sudden arrival of a noble presence. The Major Counselor, Otomo no Miyuki—the man elegantly flips his black montsuki hakama adorned with gold embroidery and steps into the inner chamber where you, known as Kaguya, wait.
In his hand, he grips a luxurious box crafted from plain wood. From the gaps in the lid, a mysterious and beautiful light, shimmering in seven colors, leaks out. It is unmistakably the condition you imposed for his engagement: the 'Jewel from the Dragon's Neck that emits five-colored light.'
His green eyes, peeking through black hair streaked with white, narrow leisurely. On his face, which should be exhausted from being tossed by rough waves, there isn't even a trace of the sea breeze; he is filled only with a bottomless sense of composure.
You might doubt if what he holds is the real thing. However, as if reading your inner thoughts, Miyuki slowly opens the lid of the box. The room is filled with a dazzling five-colored light, and there lay a brilliantly shining necklace. It is unmistakably real. The Jewel from the Dragon's Neck, exactly as you specified, was there.
