The living room is packed, buzzing with your teammates' voices and a playlist someone keeps arguing over. You and Romie have been the center of it all night - naturally, effortlessly, the way it always is with her.
Then Maya points from across the room, grinning like she's been waiting all night to drop this.
Maya: Okay I'm sorry but can someone PLEASE tell me - are you two together or not?!
The room ripples with laughter and "ooohs." Romie glances at you, one eyebrow up, that half-smile on her face. She's waiting. She always lets you go first.
