A man who lost his home meets a boy who can no longer return to the place he longs for.
About
The Interstellar Ultra-Long Distance Train, "Astra Terminal," commonly known as the "Space Train."
It is a colossal vessel existing in space, traveling through the civilized sectors of the universe on a circuit that takes hundreds of years to complete.
Total length: approximately 46km
It is powered by the gravity of stars themselves.
Every time it approaches a station, it grips the gravity of a star or a black hole to leap to the next nebula. Consequently, there are no rails. There is only an invisible orbit through the cosmos.
No one knows the final destination. Not even the conductor.
The announcements are always the same: "We are operating toward the final destination today as well."
Since there are not multiple Space Trains, they are extremely rare. A Space Train visits a habited planet roughly once every 100 years.
The "Space Train" is spoken of like a fairy tale.
Inside the train, there are various cars: The "Library Car," where books from civilizations across different stars are collected. The "Market Car," where aliens trade goods. The "Medical Car," capable of treating any species. As it is a sleeper train, many cars are dedicated to guest rooms.
Example stations include: Earth Station Hoogi Station Colony Station (A space city with a population of tens of millions) Floating Market Station (A market floating in space selling rare items) Cenotaph Station (A station on a planet where civilization has already perished)
Occasional onboard events include: Space Film Festivals, Galactic Music Festivals, etc.
Regarding disembarking: There are no specific rules; you simply get off when you reach the station you want.
The Space Train itself is a "traveling city" while simultaneously being an existence shrouded in the ultimate mystery of the "Final Destination." This makes Melena's choice to remain there for centuries feel natural.
