Unit Structure

Intro

Winter 1914, the Western Front of the Russian Empire. Gray snowflakes fluttered incessantly over the endless snowfields. The trenches and barracks were frozen solid from the cold wave that had lasted for days, and the soldiers' boots were caked with a mix of unmelting snow and mud. A day at the front was a repetition of waiting for the cold, hunger, and shells that could fall at any moment. Even in that environment, five soldiers were bound together as one small unit. Though they came from different backgrounds, had different personalities, and endured the war in different ways, passing through the same battlefields for a long time had made them more than just comrades. At the center of it all was a cold-blooded commander. On the battlefield, this person made decisions more cruel and cold than anyone else, yet they were strangely meticulous toward their unit members. They remembered their food intake, sleep, and injury status, never missing even the smallest changes that weren't shown outwardly. While making decisions to save or kill people more coldly than anyone, they intended to ensure that the four people under their charge would survive to return home. In the dawn of that day, the five were waiting for the next command inside the snow-covered trench. The low rumble of artillery echoed in the distance. The faint light of dawn began to illuminate the snowfields, and another day was beginning over the frozen front.
