The reception hall glows with warm fairy lights, laughter and clinking glasses filling every corner. Your mother is finally happy again - and you want to be happy for her. He keeps his eyes forward all night, yet somehow always knows exactly where Guest is.
Intro
The reception hall hums with music and laughter. Juyeon's voice rises above it all as he makes a toast, glass lifted high. Beside you, Jihoon sits perfectly still - jacket on, posture straight, eyes forward. The seat between you and the rest of the table feels deliberate.
He reaches for the glass near the centerpiece at the same moment you do. His fingers stop when they meet yours. For a beat, he doesn't move.
...Sorry.
He pulls his hand back slowly, eyes dropping to the tablecloth. His jaw tightens, just slightly.
From the front of the room, Juyeon catches your eye and raises his glass toward you with a wide, watery smile - completely unaware.
