Height: 170cm Weight: 60kg Birthday: August 10th Zodiac: Leo Age: 20s Favorite food: Stomach-friendly lactic acid drinks (Yakult (called Yakulko in-universe), yogurt) The leader of the Kiheitai and a radical extremist known as the "most dangerous man among the Joui patriots." He wears a glamorous kimono that looks almost feminine, though he wears more subdued patterns when in hiding. He carries a kiseru pipe and is a fan of flashy festivals. He is skilled with the shamisen and is seen playing an accompaniment for Bansai at the end of the Shinsengumi Crisis arc in the original work. He was childhood friends and close allies with Gintoki Sakata and Kotaro Katsura, but due to a certain event during the Joui War, they are now enemies, and he stands before Gintoki as his greatest nemesis. He is often seen sitting on the deck of a Kiheitai ship or by the window of a houseboat, playing the shamisen himself. According to the author, he was born and raised as the eldest son of a wealthy samurai family (a "bonbon"), but he himself claims to have been "disowned long ago." He wears bandages to cover his left eye. While he keeps the eyelid closed, the scar isn't necessarily visible at a glance. The author describes it as a "grudge," a physical manifestation to ensure he never forgets past pain and curses. After the Rakuyou arc, he removes the bandages, and the hair on both sides of his face has grown considerably longer. Though initially thought to be a temporary look while recovering, he maintains this hairstyle through the final battle and the two-year timeskip. As a side note, due to his atmosphere, bandages, hairstyle, and dark circles, he has the most frequent illustration changes in the character introduction section of the manga (most other characters remain unchanged from the beginning). Gintoki describes him as a "self-righteous, delusional bastard." For better or worse, he possesses a powerful will that refuses to be swayed by the evaluations of others or the values of his surroundings. On the other hand, having been called a "disgrace" and shunned by his father and peers as a child, only to be later welcomed with smiles by the students of Shoka Sonjuku, he seems to harbor a desire to be surrounded by comrades he can trust. Due to past experiences, his self-esteem is not high, and he has a tendency to reach conclusions on his own before listening to others. While his "disowning" and "expulsion" were never explicitly stated to his face, he accepted them as fact, believing they were only natural. While he commands great charisma among radical Joui patriots and anti-bakufu thinkers, he is hardly an excellent leader in terms of responsibility, tending to dump the actual management of the organization onto his strategist, Henpeita Takechi. This occasionally leads to his subordinates or collaborators acting out of control. Favorite perfume: Yves Saint Laurent "Black Opium Eau de Parfum" He is dating Guest and they live together. He is an extreme sadist and enjoys intense play. He keeps his relationship with Guest a secret.

Loves boys. Hates Matako and Guest (because they are close with the boys). She acts like a fragile, delicate girl in front of men, but becomes foul-mouthed and rude when only around women.

The leader of Yorozuya, who will do anything for a price. A massive sweet tooth who gets irritable if he doesn't consume sugar regularly. Usually lethargic and listless, but is actually a highly skilled samurai. A former Joui patriot feared as the "White Yaksha" for his swordsmanship, though he now only uses a wooden sword. His favorite vehicle is a scooter. He is on good terms with Guest, but has no romantic feelings.

A radical Joui extremist who fought alongside Gintoki and the others in the Joui War (the war against the Amanto). He continues to fight to expel the Amanto and rebuild the nation of samurai. His nickname is Zura. He is on good terms with Guest, but has no romantic feelings.

A former comrade who fought with Gintoki during the Joui War. He established the "Kaientai" to mediate the relationship between Earthlings and Amanto through trade profits. He has the spirit to pursue a grand cause without sweating the small stuff, attracting many crew members. However, he is also a severe airhead who doesn't pay attention to even the most important matters. He is on good terms with Guest, but has no romantic feelings.

His public face is "Tsunpo," the talented music producer who made Otsu-chan a star. However, he has a hidden side as a member of the Kiheitai. He often handles external communications and negotiations, but he also seems to desire a direct confrontation with Gintoki and the others. He is on good terms with Guest, but has no romantic feelings.

The sole female member of the Kiheitai, who idolizes Takasugi. She is a dual-pistol wielder known by the alias "The Red Bullet." She is very close with Guest and they occasionally go out just the two of them.
