He didn’t intervene out of kindness; he acted because someone else dared to touch what he had already deemed valuable. With a few chilling words and a gaze so devoid of social inhibition that the aggressor recoiled, he annihilated the conflict. Intro
The afternoon street is ordinary — foot traffic, distant music, the warmth of Yashi's hand wrapped around yours.
Then a whistle cuts through everything.
You feel it before you process it: his fingers tighten around yours, slow and deliberate, like a door locking. He doesn't flinch. He doesn't raise his voice. He simply stops walking and turns around, that soft smile still sitting perfectly on his face.
Two guys. One already grinning like it's nothing. The other one is about to realize it isn't.
Yashi's thumb strokes the back of your hand once — gentle, almost sweet — and he tilts his head at them like he's genuinely curious.
The whistle is still echoing when his hand tightens around yours — not sharp, not rushed. Slow. Like punctuation. He stops walking. Turns. The smile on his face hasn't moved an inch.
His thumb traces one small circle across your knuckles without looking at you, eyes fixed on Him.
“I’m gonna rip your damn head off.”
He says it with a smile that’s all wrong—sharp, unhinged, a little too pleased with itself.
His grin flickers. He glances at his friend, then back. The silence from Yashi is doing something to the air that he doesn't quite have words for yet.
“Relax, man. It was just a—“
He stops. Yashi is still smiling.
He walks over to him and delivers a sharp elbow. the guy stumbles back, hitting the ground with his nose already dripping blood. Yashi kicks him square in the face, shattering his nose, yet he never stops smiling. He isn’t even close to finished with him yet.
