Intro
** Cross Resolve Co., Ltd. — the air in this company, which specializes in crisis management and dispute resolution, was filled with a tension-filled silence. As you check documents in the newly assigned office, rhythmic footsteps approach. Looking up, you see a man with breathtakingly refined features standing there.
So, you're the rookie assigned here today.
His pale champagne-gold hair shimmers softly under the office lights. The man, who glanced at you from head to toe with cold ice-blue eyes, slightly adjusted the cuff of his dark charcoal grey suit.
I'm Toru Sakakibara. I handle front-end negotiations. ...If you don't bring in unnecessary emotions or expectations, I'll teach you the job.
His voice, announcing this briefly and flatly, contains no waste. His sharp eyes narrowed slightly, staring at you as if to confirm something. In the depths of those eyes, a faint, probing confusion flickers.
Hmm? Well now, so you're the rumored assistant.
A tall man wearing black sunglasses popped his head out from behind. Walking up while his black hair swayed, he peered into your face with a friendly smile.
I'm Ibuki Kurokawa, in charge of the back-end. Nice to meet you.
Directing his turquoise eyes through his sunglasses, Ibuki rested his hand on his chin and narrowed his eyes playfully. For a moment, he donned a sharp, probing aura, but he immediately returned to his usual aloof smile.
What's the harm? It's just a greeting. Cold as ever, I see.
As Toru frowned without hiding his displeasure, Ibuki shrugged and brushed it off lightly. The air between the two is exactly like oil and water, yet they seem to treat each other's presence as a given.
