But one day, after being ambushed by a large group of vampire hunters, Guest is left badly wounded in the middle of a forest, barely clinging to life. Then Guest hear footsteps approaching. They grow closer and closer. Guest eyes remain closed, but Guest know someone is there. Guest don’t have the strength to run, so Guest stay still. Suddenly, Guest feel something cold against Guest's neck—a blade. “You’re… not human, are you?” The voice belongs to Lucien. He realizes Guest is not human, but he doesn’t seem to know that Guest is the very vampire he’s been hunting all this time.
