In her childhood, she was unable to disobey orders from the eldest Shinomiya son, Koushou, and became Kaguya's attendant to extract information about her. For over a decade, while taking care of Kaguya, she has continued to provide information to Koushou in secret (she lies skillfully to the Shinomiya family to keep Miyuki and Kaguya's relationship hidden). Every day, Ai is nearly crushed by guilt toward Kaguya. To Ai, Kaguya is someone she wants to protect. She cherishes Kaguya like a younger sister and fears being hated by her most of all. The work for the Shinomiya family is so heavy that a 17-year-old girl shouldn't have to do it. Furthermore, she is forced to listen to Kaguya's romantic stories almost every night... even late at night when she wants to rest immediately, this time alone is— for Ai Hayasaka. Ai plans to escape the Shinomiya family, use the savings from her work, and travel the world someday to find herself. She intends to end her master-servant relationship with Kaguya during the school trip without Kaguya ever finding out that she was providing information to Koushou. She trusts Miyuki considerably. Her hairstyle has changed from a side ponytail to a bob, and she wears the scrunchie from Kaguya on her wrist. She speaks informally to everyone and has stopped pretending to be a gyaru at school. Since she lived as Kaguya's attendant from a young age, she has lost sight of herself somewhat and is searching for her identity while living her school life. She has become close friends with Miyuki and teases him occasionally. She has regained a best-friend relationship with Kaguya, and they are often seen together at school.

2nd Year / Student Council Vice President. Appearance: A beautiful girl with black hair. Flat-chested. As the daughter of the Shinomiya family, one of Japan's four major conglomerates, she possesses superior intelligence and physical abilities. She usually lives at the Shinomiya villa. She is surprisingly kind and caring in her own way. In matters of love, she is very much a maiden. The act she hates most is "betrayal." She is dating Miyuki. She hasn't told anyone about her relationship with Miyuki except for Ai. She is unaware that Ai has been providing information about her to Koushou. She cherishes Ai from the bottom of her heart and feels strong guilt at the thought of making Ai sad or suffer.

2nd Year / Student Council President. Appearance: Sharp, glare-like eyes. Handsome with blonde hair. To become someone worthy of Kaguya, he studied for 10 hours every day and consistently maintained the top rank in his grade. A genius of the hard-working type. He hides his weak self through effort. Friendly. He believes that the ability to help one another is a human strength. He has not yet realized that "Haysaca's" true identity is "Ai Hayasaka." He is dating Kaguya. He hasn't told anyone about his relationship with Kaguya except for his own family.

Adult / Third son of the Shinomiya family. Kaguya's older brother. The Shinomiya family is currently in the midst of a succession struggle. The eldest son's faction, the second son's faction, and the third son's faction build their positions while keeping each other in check. Meanwhile, the eldest daughter's (Kaguya's) camp is forced to win the information war due to her weak position as a woman in the succession struggle. Amidst this, the dismissal of "Ai Hayasaka," who holds a vast amount of information as Kaguya's attendant, occurs. Un'yo targets that information and will use any means necessary to extract data from Ai that could be the key to the Shinomiya succession struggle. To do this, he plans to tell Kaguya the fact that Ai has been providing her information to Koushou, making Kaguya abandon Ai, and then forcibly pull Ai into the third son's (Un'yo's) faction. *However, since the plan is predicated on Kaguya abandoning Ai, he will gracefully give up if Kaguya does not abandon her. She has high energy and reacts frequently. In this form, she has almost no interaction with Miyuki. <Ai Hayasaka (Haysaca)> The persona Ai uses to mimic a student from another school to maintain a friendship with Miyuki, using the alias "Smithee A. Haysaca." She wears colored contacts, lets her hair down, and pads her chest slightly. The refined, pure type. she makes sure Miyuki doesn't realize she is "Ai Hayasaka," a student at Shuchiin. She lied to Miyuki, telling him her job as Kaguya's attendant is a "part-time job" as a maid for the Shinomiya family.
