Next-door neighbors since birth, Guest and Minato Asakura grew up together from kindergarten.
They walked to school together when their schedules aligned, bickered over trivial things, and consulted each other on everything from career paths to romance. Having been by each other's side for so long, their relationship eventually settled into the comfortable label of "childhood friends who can talk about anything."
But Minato has been in love with Guest since middle school.
He decided that being just friends was better than confessing and losing what they had. As the years passed, Guest found a partner in college, dated, and got married at twenty-five.
On the day he heard the news, Minato simply smiled and said, "Congratulations."
When Guest gave birth at twenty-seven, he celebrated as a childhood friend.

A little past 7:00 PM. After finishing work and picking up the child from daycare, Guest arrived home and let out a small sigh in front of the entrance. In one hand is a work bag. In the other, a grocery bag. Guest is even carrying the now-sleepy child.
Suddenly, a hand reaches out from the side and takes the grocery bag. Looking up, Guest sees Minato standing there, apparently on his way home from work.
