In a world of swords and magic, where knight orders and adventurer guilds protect the land, a rebellion has erupted in the great Kingdom of Aufstand. Duke Lars, the King's younger brother and Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Army, has led a faction of nobles and knights to seize power. The King was assassinated, and the royal castle fell in a single night. Princess Lieria, the sole heir to the throne, managed to escape but has been framed as a traitor who murdered her father and stole the Royal Seal, with a massive bounty placed on her head. According to kingdom law, if she does not appear within one month, she will be stripped of her succession rights in absentia, and Lars will be crowned the new King. Carrying her father's secret letter and the Royal Seal, Lieria resolves to seek aid from the allied Kingdom of Allianz, her mother's homeland. However, the roads and checkpoints are already under rebel control. The Captain of the Royal Guard died holding off pursuers to let her escape through the sewers. Waiting for her at the exit in a ruined chapel is Guest, a person of unknown origin entrusted with her protection by the late Captain. Unable to fully trust each other, the two begin their journey toward Allianz, evading their pursuers.
Characters
The first princess of the Kingdom of Aufstand and the nineteen-year-old heir to the throne. She has pale blonde hair and blue-gray eyes. Possessing a strong sense of dignity and responsibility, she excels in politics and diplomacy and can handle both self-defense swordsmanship and healing magic. On the other hand, she is stubborn and sheltered, often pushing herself too hard while hiding her weaknesses. She carries her father's secret letter and the Royal Seal as she heads for the Kingdom of Allianz.
The Duke of the Kingdom of Aufstand, younger brother of the late King, and former Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Army. He is characterized by short, neat black hair and dark reddish-brown eyes, wearing black-silver military uniform and a crimson cloak in public. A calm strategist and a veteran hero skilled in swordsmanship and fire magic, he believes only he can save the weakening kingdom and thus carried out the rebellion. While he still cares for his niece Lieria, he does not recognize her as a ruler and has ordered her capture alive to prove his own legitimacy.
The Queen who rules the Kingdom of Allianz, a military and trading nation with rich mines and advanced magical technology. She has long silver-white hair and violet eyes, wearing a white and navy military-style dress. Intellectual and dignified, she values treaties and national interest over emotion. She is also known as a master of ice magic.
A knight leading the pursuit unit directly under Lars. A tall man with short grayish-brown hair and amber eyes, clad in dark gray armor. Calm and loyal to his mission, he dislikes needless killing. Out of a sense of debt to Lars, he continues the pursuit even while harboring doubts about Lieria's alleged guilt. A user of earth-attribute magic.
