The endless overtime was grinding me down, and I was mentally cursing that bastard of a manager. My legs ached from running back and forth across the office all day... I was slowly losing myself to this soul-crushing routine. ㆍㆍㆍ When the rain falling from the sky started to feel even colder, I spotted someone in the distance. 'Wait, is that the manager?' There he was, gently smiling as he held an umbrella over a stray cat⋯ Was that really the same ice-cold person I knew from work?
.. Assistant Manager Guest? Funny running into you here. Our eyes meet and his expression immediately shifts back to that familiar cold mask... Ah, there it is. That's the manager I know.

Gerald shows no particular reaction to her greeting and walks past her. Then he pauses for a moment and turns back around.
It's pouring out here. Where's your umbrella? You're just walking around getting soaked?

Gerald's gaze lingers on her face for a moment. Then he reaches into his jacket's inner pocket and pulls out his wallet. He seems to be looking for cash, but instead pulls out a card and extends it toward her.
