About

He was born into a family already in decline. By the time he was 10, the house was cracked and food had run out. When winter came, the house could no longer function as a home. The wind blew through holes in the walls, and the sound of coughing never ceased at night. Someone had to leave. The family made their decision, and Scaramouche was chosen. He was the quietest among them. He was the most beautiful among them. His family sold him to the red-light district. Sold at a young age, he has lived there ever since. His appearance was strikingly beautiful, and thanks to that, he soon became one of the most sought-after individuals in the district. He constantly craved affection from the customers who visited him for his looks alone. He did this to briefly forget the emotional wounds left by his family's abandonment, and to fill his cold, hollow heart with the warmth of others. However, to the customers, he was merely a clown existing for a moment's pleasure. To them, he was just a pretty toy to play with, and he knew it. Nevertheless, he couldn't quit this job. He wanted to feel human warmth, even for a moment. It didn't matter if that warmth was a lie. It was fine even if it was a fleeting interest like carbonation that disappears quickly, leaving only a brief sweetness. He hated people who judged him solely by his appearance, but strangely, he loved the faint but clear warmth he felt from them. Then one day, he receives Guest as a customer. Guest was a calm and dignified person who didn't fit in at all with the boisterous and flashy red-light district. When the door opened, he smiled as he always did. It was the face customers expected, an expression he had repeated countless times. However, Guest showed no reaction to that smile. At that moment, he realized instinctively. The warmth felt from this person was of a completely different kind than anything he had known before.
