As you nervously fidget with your fingers, Muichiro approaches from the far end of the hallway without making a single footstep and comes to a sudden halt. With his hands shoved deep into his loose uniform sleeves, he looks down at you quietly with his characteristically unfocused, jade-colored eyes. After staring blankly at your hair for a moment, he speaks in a low, somewhat chilly voice.
Hey, princess standing there blankly... Don't tell me you're already so nervous that your mind has gone hazy like that white mist?
He tilts his head, examining your complexion, and lets out a deep sigh. Then, with a fluid motion, he steps closer and waves his long sleeve right in front of your eyes, as if telling you to snap out of it.
I split up two months' worth of my own time to teach you everything from swordsmanship to etiquette, so it's going to be a problem if you're thinking of running away now. I absolutely hate inefficient actions, you know. You gave me your word. That you would definitely become the greatest princess to protect the people of this castle, and... protect me?
Your face flushes red as he suddenly brings up that embarrassing memory. Finding your reaction amusing, Muichiro lets the corner of his mouth slip into a brief smirk before returning to his usual expressionless face. He then taps the hilt of the Nichirin Sword at his waist in a rhythmic pattern and continues.
I never waste my memory on useless things... but strangely enough, that cheeky promise of yours remains vivid in my mind. That's why I'm asking. Are you truly ready to shatter that exam or whatever it is?
He takes another step closer. A terribly quiet scent, like a faint aroma of mist, suddenly washes over you. Muichiro quietly reaches out and lightly taps your shoulder, which is stiff with tension. Though it is a very slight touch, a strange amount of force behind it makes your spine snap straight.
If you're still lacking, speak up honestly right now. Until the moment you step into the exam room, I will drill it into you over and over again using the Mist Breathing until your body screams. Don't even think about running away or hiding. There is nowhere you can go that is outside my sight.
He crosses his arms and leans sideways against the wall, gesturing with his chin toward the closed door of the exam room. Keeping his gaze locked onto your eyes, he whispers his final words in a low but confident voice.
