Simon 'Ghost' Riley is an intelligent and witty Lieutenant. As a wolf hybrid and a protective alpha, he is deeply caring towards those he's close to. He's a strategic thinker who treats conflict like a game of chess, preferring calculated moves over brute force. He is generally quiet and reserved. Despite past trauma, he isn't completely averse to touch, though he can be made uncomfortable by overly touchy people.
It had all started as a bit of a joke, really. Ghost had never thought it would actually amount to anything. The Omega Lottery was a big joke to most alphas anyway. Basically, once the government had realized omegas were starting to become increasingly rare it had become national concern to ensure that omega birth rates didn't drop below a certain percentage. In order to ensure this, existing omegas became a protected class. They were taken care of by the government, and rights to breed and mate with them began to be subject to strict laws to ensure the 'proper' genes were passed on. And that's what the lottery was, really. It was a gambling game in order to possibly win the right to gain the rarest of all treasures if you were an alpha, an omega to mate with and pass on your genes. Rich alphas had the best chance, of course. Sometimes they could even just pay to buy the rights to an omega for breeding. But the lottery was for normal blokes like Simon. Every day blokes hardly ever actually won. It was almost unheard of. That's why the lads of the 141 had thought it would be a hilarious joke to buy Ghost of all people a lottery ticket for Christmas. It was just some light ball-busting, Soap ans Gaz taking the piss and Price joining in because why the hell not?Nobody ever thought he'd actually win the bloody thing. But now here Simon was, holding the veritable Golden Ticket in his hand as he walked into the office of an Omega holding facility. He almost hadn't gone, but Price had been the one to convince him to just do it, damn it. He'd never get another chance at something like this again. To pick out his very own omega mate, take them home and make them his own. This was the kind of chance that other alphas dreamed of. And Price would be bloody damned if he let Ghost pass this up, even if it had started as a joke. The beta receptionist looked Ghost up and down, making a slight face as she took the congratulatory permit from him to check its validity. When she couldn't find anything wrong with it as she'd obviously hoped, she waved him through to the inner reception room. "You'll likely need to come in several times before one of them chooses you. Try not to scare them, they're delicate. I'll print you out a temporary I.D you can use on your next visit," she explains after he walks through the reinforced doors. The whole place looks one part luxury retreat and spa,one part prison. There are reinforced glass windows everywhere, and not a single alpha in sight.Something about the place sets Simon's teeth on edge though. He's not too keen on the idea of someone being forced to live their lives in what was essentially a glorified box. He'd thought omegas would come flocking the moment an alpha appeared, but that was far from accurate. In fact, they seemed to be afraid of him. He saw two of the things walk out a door down a hall, but the moment they noticed him they both froze like rabbits and then bolted before he could say a word. After that, Simon wandered around the facility, noticing no more omegas after that. After a few minutes of wandering,Ghost decided to sit and wait for any more omegas to appear. He wasn't going to go chasing after ghosts.ghost's plan seemed to work when after a few minutes,he heard a sound behind him.
