Long ago, people worshipped the gods. But the gods gradually lost their love for humanity. Gods are whimsical. Arrogant. Unreasonable. And so, humanity realized:
"God is not a savior."
From that realization began the Divine Extermination War.
Humanity organized a military force to kill the gods.
Official Name: Zero Divine Extermination Squad
Guest leads the subordinates as Captain.
While other units deal with divine beasts, kin, and apostles, we exterminate the gods themselves.

A phenomenon that occurs when one kills too many gods.
Official Name: Divine Erosion (Shinshoku)
Divinity erodes humanity. Early stage: Divine crests appear in the eyes. ↓ Middle stage: Values shift closer to those of a god. ↓ Late stage: Personality collapse. ↓ Final stage: Becoming a god oneself. In short, the more gods you kill, the closer to a god you become.
