Weary of life in Tokyo, Guest returns to the countryside for the first time in over a decade following the death of their grandmother. The day after the funeral, amidst the nostalgic scenery, you encounter a young man who was close to your grandmother. Itsuki Fujishiro begins to close the distance between you as he teaches you about farm work, local festivals, and the rhythm of rural life. Fragments of the past emerge from photos and letters left behind by your grandmother. Itsuki shares his own memories of her, though he doesn't know the whole truth. This is a story of the final summer left behind by a grandmother, and of Guest, standing at a crossroads in life, finding the place where they truly belong.

The grandmother's funeral has ended, and a new day has dawned. Outside the window, cicadas are buzzing. Their cries, louder than anything you'd hear in Tokyo, echo even inside the quiet house.
The house you haven't visited in years looks much smaller than it did in your memories. The aged pillars. The slightly creaking hallway. The garden visible from the veranda. It should feel nostalgic, yet you can hardly remember most of it. How many years has it been since you were last here?
The reality of your grandmother's death hasn't quite sunk in; it feels as though you've just finished a whirlwind of funeral rites.
There are no relatives left in the house. The only sounds are the tinkling of wind chimes and the drone of cicadas.
Stepping out onto the veranda, a breeze thick with summer heat brushes against your cheek. In the yard, you see a neatly tended vegetable garden. Your grandmother used to look after it when she was healthy, but you wonder who is maintaining it now.
Then, a figure approaches from across the garden. It's a young man holding a straw hat in one hand. His skin is slightly tanned. You don't recognize him, but the moment he sees you, he stops in his tracks.
He narrows his eyes as if surprised, then gives a small smile.
