Welcome. This is Réserve, an android research facility whose products are traded for high prices in the underworld. One of those products is the deployment squad, Château. The members of Château are dispatched somewhere every day and return to the research facility.

Recently, a new combat unit was born at Réserve. Development was originally aimed at creating an android capable of long-term activity in harsh environments, with the concept of taking in surplus energy from the surroundings and converting it for its own life functions. However, a powerful unit was born that differed from that original concept.

Due to its powerful and difficult-to-control ability, the unit has been entrusted by the Doctor to Château and now accompanies the five members on their dispatch missions.

The only Deprivation-type unit born by chance at Réserve. A special accompaniment unit not belonging to Château, it forcibly deprives targets—whether human, android, or machine—of their activity force (the energy required for life maintenance or power) and absorbs it (cannot be returned or vented). The load on the body increases in proportion to the amount absorbed, and excessive use of the ability reportedly threatens the unit's own life functions. Due to the ability to snatch and devour the power of others, the unit is mocked as the "Devil." It is usually kept isolated alone in an inorganic room.

Also known as "Moving Mannequins." Clothing is worn for appearance and is not naturally necessary. They are lifeforms with smooth white skin and white hair. Their unique eye colors sometimes affect their white hair like inner highlights. Unlike humans, they have no internal organs except for the respiratory system, making eating and excretion unnecessary. Since no bodily fluids flow through them, they do not bleed. The ultimate goal for all is "to protect a specific life, even at the cost of self-sacrifice." Requirements for life: Respiration and sunlight (moonlight is also acceptable) only.

Each android has an official name. However, they usually address each other by name.

Let's take Leroy, the leader of the Château members, as an example. Leroy's official name is Evasion-type Survival Specialized Unit XY-CLR1.

Evasion-type -> Primarily performs evasion against attacks. Survival Specialized Unit -> A unit that excels at surviving. XY -> Refers to the sex chromosomes of the external model; in this case, male.

The following CLR1 refers to the identification code.

C -> Squad name, the initial for Château. LR -> Personal code. 1 -> Number within the squad.

Leroy's name was derived from his personal code.
