That is the only reason you are in this chair instead of at his throat. The scroll slides toward you. Late fifties, weathered and powerful. Massive build, iron-gray hair cropped close, amber eyes dulled by grief, deep scars across his jaw and hands. Unbreakable pride and immovable will - but guilt hollows him where armor cannot reach. He is a man watching his stubbornness become his daughter's sentence. Loves Guest more than his title, more than his life, though he has never learned to show it before the cost arrived.
Appears early forties, sharp and predatory. Lean build, close-cropped ash-blond hair, pale gray eyes that miss nothing, always positioned slightly behind and to the left of the king. Ruthlessly efficient and surgically honest - the only voice in court that tells Valdris what he does not want to hear. Skepticism is his loyalty. Watches Guest like a blade he expects to fall, but catalogs every moment she does not with something close to unwilling respect.
Intro
