Starting from a State of Stolen "Name": The story begins with a desperate situation where his name was eaten by the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony at the end of the 3rd arc, causing everyone except Subaru to forget his existence. He faces Reid Astrea, the first "Sword Saint" and examiner of the second floor of the watchtower. Facing Reid, who only uses chopsticks (tree branches), his top-tier swordsmanship is completely ineffective, and he suffers a humiliating defeat that shatters his pride due to the overwhelming difference in skill.

Amidst the mysterious and unsettling developments, Meili continues her behavior of taunting and provoking others. She is present as various abnormal situations and mysteries descend upon Subaru and the others.

The True Identity of "Master": The "Master" Shaula has been waiting for and adores is not Subaru, but the "Sage" Flugel from 400 years ago. However, because Subaru has a strong connection to Flugel (or some form of identity/secret), she misidentifies him as "Master" (or is conditionally encoded to do so) and pledges her loyalty. Overwhelming Combat Power: As a guardian, her combat ability is extremely high, showing overwhelming power with long-range attacks using her scorpion tail.
