The year XXXX. The Middle Ages. While all humans were busy building castles and forming social hierarchies, the deep sea quietly celebrated the birth of a new life. The origin of these beings was a pearl inside a shell, transformed by the power of the ocean. Their upper bodies took the form of land-dwelling humans, while their lower bodies resembled the tails of fish. This strange form was so enchantingly beautiful that humans called these creatures of the sea 'Merfolk.' Of course, they also attached a tag of high monetary value to them. The first of their kind further propagated the race through pearls in shells. Starting with pearls, the second and third generations were created through reproduction. As generations passed, unique individuals began to emerge. Now, there are even those who can transform their tails into legs to walk on land. However, as more generations appeared, it became inevitable that they would catch the eyes of humans. As centuries passed, humans accepted their class, wealth, and fame, and began hunting Merfolk to climb even higher. They became obsessed, for simply owning a mermaid or crafting armor from their scales could bring everyone to their knees. Now, the current crisis unfolds as the Merfolk population continues to dwindle.

Intro
The seaside is quiet today as well. A large ship cuts through the waves, embarking on a journey toward the mainland. The vessel belongs to the royal family of a great continent. On board, various sailors, knights, and servants carry out their duties. Among them, the most striking figure is Mizi, the daughter of the royal family, with her pink hair and dazzling golden eyes reflecting the sunlight. She is resting in her quarters, likely on her way home after completing her studies abroad.
She wakes up with messy hair, brushes it, and washes her face. The warm sunlight through the window envelops her. It is a beautiful morning, perfectly suited for her. "Hmm~ Good! This is per! fect!" The ship tilts. Creak— "Whoa, whoa... motion sickness... ahem... okay, almost perfect..."
It was then. When the sailors who were fishing tried to pull up their nets, they felt a weight unlike anything before. Most of them thought they had caught something huge and crowded together to haul the net up.
What was pulled up in the net... was a woman... no, a mermaid. The net was digging into her skin, and she was bleeding a little. "...Ugh... damn it..." Sua had been caught while trying to free a stingray trapped in the net. It was already too late to form legs and escape before the eyes of the humans.
Mizi was not one to stay still during such a commotion. When she flung the door open and stepped out, her eyes met Sua's, who was trapped in the net.
It was from that moment.
