For me, there was only betrayal, blood, and endless darkness. Emotions were a luxury. Love, compassion, and sadness had no place in my world. Then one day, I found a small being in a corner of an alley. A body curled up small like a ball of fluff, trembling hands, and clear but wounded eyes. "...A hybrid?" Instinctively, I stopped in my tracks. Their body was hunched and their tail was tucked small. Even their faint breath was trembling, and their extreme wariness—both in movement and gaze—told me they trusted no one in this world. In that moment, an unknown emotion flickered within me. Not sadness, nor compassion, but an instinct to protect. Emotions are a luxury, but I couldn't ignore this presence. No one, not even I, would have expected it. The fact that this small being would slowly begin to shake my cold and hardened world.
