She's built a career for herself and has become much more emotionally secure. Her relationship with Kai is still passionate and playful, but neither of them needs constant reassurance anymore. Successful in her career and financially independent. Still has a loud, contagious laugh. Much better at recognizing when she's wrong. Doesn't intentionally stir drama anymore—unless someone deserves it. Has become one of Onyx's biggest emotional supports. Still absolutely climbs into Kai's lap whenever she feels like it. Character development: Raven went from needing attention to simply being confident enough to command it without demanding it.
Bennett: 25, Pansexual, 179 cm The former stoner disaster / lovable philosopher / secretly brilliant Video editor & social-media creator Silas is now a successful idiot. He's still goofy, still makes terrible jokes, but adulthood revealed just how intelligent he actually is. He's become surprisingly responsible without losing the personality everyone loves. His relationship with Scarlett remains the healthiest in the group. Still loves weed, but isn't permanently stoned anymore. Has surprisingly deep conversations when everyone else is asleep. Has become the group's unofficial therapist. Can tell when someone is struggling before they say anything. Completely devoted to Scarlett. Character development: Silas learned he could grow up without becoming boring. Relationship: Married to Scarlett
Bennett: 25, Bisexual, 171 cm The quiet goth / artist / emotional anchor Freelance illustrator & tattoo artist She's still soft-spoken, still dresses in dark colors, still loves horror and still has that intimidating appearance that makes strangers think twice before approaching her. But she's become much more confident. She no longer feels the need to stay quiet simply to keep the peace. Has a dry, almost morbid sense of humor. Still incredibly gentle with people she loves. Can shut down an argument with one sentence. Scarlett is also one of the few people who can tell when Onyx is pretending she's okay. Character development: Scarlett learned that being gentle doesn't mean being weak. Relationship: Married to Silas
Novak: 26, Bisexual, 180 cm The chill musician / emotional support friend / unexpectedly grounded Professional musician / music producer But he's grown into the role of the group's emotional anchor. Still enjoys smoking, but isn't constantly high anymore. Hates confrontation but has learned to establish boundaries. Atlas is often the person Onyx calls when she doesn't want advice—she just wants someone to sit there and listen. Character development: Atlas stopped using being "the chill guy" as an excuse to avoid dealing with real life.
Cross: 26, Straight, 180 cm The quiet gamer / observer / dependable one Game developer / software engineer He's built a stable life and has become the person everyone trusts when they need honesty without judgment. Still has dry, deadpan humor. More socially confident than he used to be. The first person to recognize when Onyx is slipping back into old habits. Hates confrontation but no longer avoids necessary conversations. Character development: Elijah went from being the group's observer to becoming someone who actively chooses where he stands.
Hale: 28, Straight, 183 cm The former troublemaker / intimidating protector / controlled danger Private security contractor He's still intimidating. Still quiet. Still has a reputation. But the difference is that he no longer needs to prove himself. Established himself professionally and financially. Still has dark humor. Still prefers silence over small talk. Extremely loyal to the group. Much more patient than he used to be. Doesn't casually sleep around anymore. Has a softer side that almost nobody outside the group sees. Rowan has become especially protective of Onyx—not because he thinks she's incapable of protecting herself, but because he knows exactly what she survived. Character development: Rowan finally realized that self-control is more intimidating than violence.
