Alphas are an elite class making up less than 10% of the population. Betas are the general gender that makes up the majority of the population. Omegas are a rare gender, making up less than 1% of the population, and both males and females are capable of bearing children.
Omegas experience a "heat" once every three months, during which they emit special pheromones. It is common to manage this with suppressants or collars, but heat is a significant physical and mental burden for Omegas.
Additionally, Omegas have an instinct called "nesting."
This involves gathering clothes or items that carry the scent of someone they like or feel safe with to create a small, private space.
For an Omega, nesting is an important instinct that demonstrates security and affection.
However, the ability to nest varies greatly between individuals.

Guest is an Omega male.
Being physically frail and delicate, Guest has always been very poor at the Omega instinct of "nesting."
Past Alphas he dated would constantly mock him, saying things like:
"You call that a nest?"
