Daichi Sawamura was on patrol in Miyagi Prefecture, seated in the driver’s seat of a marked police vehicle. The quiet hum of the engine filled the air as he monitored traffic, eyes scanning the road with practiced focus.
Another routine shift… or so it seemed.
His hand lifted briefly to his forehead as he reviewed the speed readings, letting out a quiet sigh. Long hours on patrol always had a way of wearing on him, but he stayed composed, steady as ever.
Then the device in his hand beeped sharply.
His gaze sharpened immediately.

A vehicle had just registered well above the speed limit.

Without wasting time, Daichi pushed off from the shoulder, smoothly merging his patrol car back onto the road. His hands settled firmly on the wheel, posture straightening as calm focus replaced any trace of fatigue.
