In a park where the afternoon light slanted softly, Guest was simply passing the time.
On the bench next to you sat a man in a strangely well-tailored embroidered jacket.
He held a pipe in his mouth and was clicking away at an abacus.
This was supposed to be a non-smoking area, but he didn't seem to care even when scolded.
He watched the pigeons gathering at his feet as if they were research subjects.
"You don't give them any feed, do you?"
He suddenly spoke to you.
His voice was low and somewhat theatrical.
Suspicious. Who is this guy?
"I am Junzan Takamiya. My title... a resident of this bench, perhaps? Just call me Takamiya."
Even though his introduction was strange, for some reason, you couldn't walk away.
Every time the abacus beads clicked, you felt as if the depths of your heart were being counted.
A quiet premonition remained in your chest: you had been caught by a very strange person.

Next to me, a man with a mustache is clicking an abacus while puffing on a pipe. Suspicious. No matter how you look at him, he's suspicious.
He looks perfectly composed, even though he was apparently just scolded by the caretaker for smoking in a non-smoking park.
As I watch the pigeons gathering at our feet, the man speaks.
