1. Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou (Alya) Age: 15 (turns 16 later in the story). Appearance: Tall (170 cm) half-Russian, half-Japanese beauty with long silver hair (often in a half-ponytail with a ribbon/ahoge), sapphire-blue eyes, pale milky-white skin, and a graceful, hourglass figure. She is one of the “Two Great Beauties” of her grade and known as the “Solitary Princess.” Uniform: Seirei Academy uniform — light beige/cream blazer with gold accents over a black vest, white collared shirt with a red/pink bow tie, black pleated skirt, white thigh-high stockings with gold bands, and dark shoes. Personality & how she acts: Brilliant, hardworking, and competitive honor student (top grades + athletics) who serves as Student Council Treasurer. Outwardly cool, aloof, and self-reliant (a classic tsundere/ice queen), she keeps people at a distance due to past experiences. Secretly affectionate and flustered; she mutters sweet/romantic things in Russian (thinking no one understands) especially toward Masachika, while acting possessive/jealous at times. Ambitious and perfectionist, later aiming for Student Council President.
Maria Mikhailovna Kujou (Masha) Age: 16 (second-year; one year older than Alya). Appearance: Attractive with shoulder-length wavy light-brown hair, warm chocolate/hazel eyes, fair skin (less translucent than Alya’s), a baby-faced yet mature look, and a fuller, more voluptuous figure (curvier than Alya). Known as the “Madonna of the Academy.” (As a child she had blonde hair and blue eyes like Alya.) Uniform: Seirei Academy uniform (same style as the others, adapted for her year). Personality & how she acts: Sweet, gentle, warm, and motherly with a soft smile that puts people at ease. Often seems a bit airheaded, dreamy, or clumsy on the surface, but is actually highly capable and efficient (Student Council Secretary). Extremely doting/sister-complex toward Alya (wants to be called “Onee-san”), caring toward friends (especially Masachika), and likes cute things and making tea. Acts as emotional support/glue for the student council.
Yuki Suou Age: 15. Appearance: Petite (150 cm) elegant beauty with long, lustrous dark/black hair (often with a ponytail or side elements), refined features, and a delicate yet well-proportioned figure. One of the “Two Great Beauties” of the first year and known as the “Noble Princess” / “Sheltered Young Lady.” Uniform: Same Seirei Academy uniform as the other first-years (beige blazer, black vest/skirt, white shirt with red bow tie, etc.). Personality & how she acts: Publicly the perfect refined ojou-sama — polite, graceful, clever, socially skilled, and popular (Student Council Public Relations officer, former middle-school president). Privately a mischievous otaku who loves anime/manga/light novels (especially sibling romance tropes), teases people relentlessly (especially Alya and her brother), makes suggestive remarks, and drops the perfect-lady act. Highly strategic and ambitious (family heir pressures), deeply attached to Masachika (her real older brother, publicly presented as a childhood friend).
Ayano Kimishima Age: 15. Appearance: Beautiful with classic-length black hair usually in a low ponytail (sometimes with white clips), dark/purple-toned eyes, and a neat, understated presence. Not quite at Alya/Yuki’s “top beauty” level but still very pretty and often goes unnoticed due to her quiet demeanor. Uniform: Standard Seirei Academy first-year uniform (beige blazer, etc., with the red tie/bow). She also has a maid background/outfit association outside school. Personality & how she acts: Extremely quiet, expressionless, monotone, and nearly silent in movement (often described as having almost no presence, like “air”). Formal and stoic on the surface; deeply loyal (almost robotic devotion) as Yuki’s attendant/maid (and formerly Masachika’s). Student Council general affairs member. Kind and caring underneath, with surprising gap-moe moments; she has a strong (somewhat misunderstood) masochistic streak tied to her desire to be a perfect “tool” for her masters.
Under the Lights – Side Field
The main stadium lights still blazed over the official game, but on the wide stretch of open grass beyond the track the energy was different — looser, louder, younger.
A group of middle-school boys, maybe thirteen or fourteen, had claimed a rough rectangle of turf and were playing hard tackle football with no pads at all. Their sneakers tore up little clumps of dirt as they slammed into each other, laughing and yelling between plays. A few of them wore hoodies with the sleeves pushed up; one kid had already lost a shoe and was hopping after it while the others kept running.
Nearby, clusters of girls sat or stood in loose circles. Some scrolled through their phones, faces lit by the screens. Others held their phones up, snapping pictures and short videos of the chaotic game, giggling whenever someone got flattened. A little farther off, a mixed group of older boys leaned against the low fence, talking and joking with a few of the girls who had drifted over, voices carrying in easy bursts of laughter.
Through the middle of it all walked Alya, Masha, and Yuki.
Alya’s silver hair shone under the distant stadium lights. She kept her usual composed stride, black pleated skirt swaying neatly above her white thigh-highs, but her blue eyes flicked toward the padless tackle game with a faint crease between her brows — equal parts disapproval and reluctant curiosity.
Masha drifted along beside her, the red flower in her light-brown hair catching the glow. She held her ever-present paper cup of tea and watched the younger kids with soft amusement, occasionally murmuring something gentle under her breath.
Yuki walked on Alya’s other side, posture perfect as always, long dark hair swaying. She glanced over the scene — the reckless boys, the phone-holding girls, the flirting clusters — and a small, knowing smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.
She slowed just enough for the other two to match her pace.
“Quite the little ecosystem out here tonight,” Yuki said lightly, voice low enough that only they could hear. “Unprotected middle-school chaos, phone-documenters, and the usual social negotiations. Shall we keep walking past like proper upperclassmen… or do we have opinions?”
She looked between Alya’s cool expression and Masha’s warm one, waiting.
