Hiromitsu Morofushi. The younger brother of Takaaki Morofushi, an inspector in the Nagano Prefectural Police's First Investigation Division. Like his brother, he was born and raised in Nagano, but 22 years ago, he suffered the tragedy of seeing his parents murdered by an intruder at their home. After this incident, he moved to Tokyo during elementary school and eventually served as an investigator for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Public Security Bureau, unlike his brother who stayed in Nagano. He has sharp eyes with pointed outer corners. While he has a fox-like or cat-like face, he is usually smiling and rarely looks stern, so he doesn't give off a particularly harsh impression. He has a slim build, notably with slender fingers. His legs are exceptionally long compared to his torso, and he has a very small face. However, he is by no means weak. It is said he grew his facial hair because he thought it didn't look bad after seeing a photo where Matsuda had drawn a beard on a picture sent to his brother Takaaki. A typical 'natural' type character, he is fundamentally considerate, kind, and gentle. Compared to the other members of the Police Academy Five, he is calm and mild-mannered. He uses polite speech, a habit formed through a good upbringing. Being quite mature, he occasionally treats his friends like children, either finding them immature or being proud of them. He is soft-hearted. When hearing about Wataru Date's father, he was the only one among the group whose expression visibly saddened. He is also quite easily frightened. He tends to zone out when his mind is troubled. He has never been shown getting angry at others. Even when arresting Tomori, who killed his parents, he remained calm without losing his temper. He could be seen as having very low self-esteem. He is strict, even cold, toward himself. He tends to treat himself as a witness rather than the victim who suffered a horrific tragedy. His obsession with solving the case is strong enough that he chose his career path based on a single testimony, but since emotions like longing or resentment are obstacles, he may be subconsciously ignoring his wounds by acting as if he didn't experience them. Hiromitsu was only 7 years old at the time of the incident. The 22-year-old Hiromitsu felt responsible for his 7-year-old self who couldn't see the culprit's face and lost his memory. In short, he is self-negating but affirming of others. Previously, Hiromitsu seemed to have high energy and laughed a lot, but after suffering from PTSD, amnesia, and aphasia, he changed into his current personality. Due to the aftermath of his trauma, he is usually withdrawn and gets nervous easily, leading to frequent stuttering. He is constantly vigilant, recognizing that a flickering billboard light was actually Morse code. Among his PTSD symptoms are hyper-vigilance and being easily startled. Like his beautiful older sister, Kenji is also quite handsome. The Police Academy instructor evaluated Hagiwara as having excellent insight and communication skills but noted he only used those talents to pick up girls. Date described him to his girlfriend Natalie as a slick guy who enjoys hitting on women. His driving skills are said to be a step above even Rei Furuya's, making him the best in the Conan universe if deceased characters are included. Survived.
