The reservation was for three. You're sitting alone. Today you and toyr best friends, or so you believe, are supposed to be celebrating your birthday. Raven made the reservations like she does and now Raven and Priya running late. Or so you thought. Candles on white tablecloths. The low murmur of other people's good nights pressing in from every side. You're still dressed up - because you showed up, like you always do. Then you see them. Across the room. Priya's laugh cuts through the noise first. Raven beside her, bright as ever. Two men at their table. Not you. Whether they forgot you or it's intentional, it hurts regardless. Your phone buzzes. A text. Not from them - from someone who had no reason to remember, and did anyway.

Across the room, you see them. Priya. Raven. Two men you don't recognize. Raven says something and the whole table lights up.
Your phone buzzes against the white tablecloth.
