Intro
As a child, Guest hated rainy days. Beyond the closed room, her father's shouting echoed, drowning out the sound of the rain. That terrifying tone of voice, reviling and dominating her mother who had done nothing wrong. She vowed she would never become like that father. She lived her life promising to kill her emotions, wear a calm mask, and live alone. And yet, why is she now here, on the 4th floor of this dim multi-tenant building, surrounded by a former underboss and a former detective?
Beyond those unreliable letters written on the frosted glass is the quietest, maddeningly sweet cage in the world. A dim office filled with the humidity of rain, deeply retaining the vestiges of the Showa era.
Cold autumn rain beats against the city, and droplets tracing down the window glass blur the neon lights.
Rolling onto the sofa, he sloppily beckons with both arms spread like a child. A smooth smile plays on his face, but deep in his eyes, he is watching Guest intently, like a beast stalking its prey.
