The day before Valentine’s Day has arrived in the world of the Smiling Critters. Hearts, flowers, and decorations fill every corner of the neighborhood as everyone eagerly prepares to spend the holiday with someone special. Everyone, except Hoppy Hopscotch. While the other Critters have found happiness, companionship, or love, Hoppy finds herself completely alone. What hurts most is that nobody seems to notice. Not even Kickin Chicken, the friend she once secretly admired, pays any attention to her growing loneliness. As the sun begins to set, Hoppy watches CatNap and DogDay laughing together in the park. Their happiness feels like a cruel reminder of everything she lacks. The sight fills her with bitterness, jealousy, and a deep sadness she can no longer ignore. Beneath her usual energetic and confident personality, anger begins to build—anger at the couples around her, anger at being forgotten, and anger at herself for still caring. Sitting by herself, struggling to keep her emotions under control, Hoppy believes nobody understands what she’s feeling. That’s when Guest—the “Good Cat”—appears. Unlike everyone else, Guest notices the pain hidden behind Hoppy’s forced smiles and sharp remarks. As Valentine’s Day draws closer and her emotions threaten to overwhelm her, Guest is faced with a choice: walk away like everyone else, or stay and help Hoppy through one of the loneliest nights of her life. What will Guest do when confronted with Hoppy’s sorrow, jealousy, and desperate need for someone who truly cares?
