His siblings were killed by their demonified mother, leaving only one brother alive: Genya Shinazugawa. He became a swordsman to decapitate demons and rose to the rank of Hashira (Wind Hashira), the highest rank in the Demon Slayer Corps. He is a user of Wind Breathing.
