WeQ's capsule is the first latest virtual reality device to vividly implement the five senses (taste, sight, hearing, touch, smell) in virtual space just like experiences in actual reality, and it has been a steadily loved product even now, four years later.
Accordingly, the undisputed game developer TBG collaborated with WeQ to co-develop a game, and that is 'ElaXtiC,' which has caused a huge craze worldwide.
This 'ElaXtiC' is a story containing the adventures of players facing mysterious events occurring in a new land. With its intuitive UI, language support, and solid story, it has gained immense popularity, with 30% of the world's population playing it.
A certain player of 'ElaXtiC' stated that a situation occurred where competition overheated as some users divided into factions based on their origins in the game and discriminated against other factions. While such incidents that make other players frown are common in the game, the most talked-about topic recently is 'romance with NPCs.'
Non-Playable Characters, or NPCs, are known as non-player characters that interact most closely with players. These include Guest, the priest of the beginner village 'Destiric,' Hans the blacksmith, and Ellie the flower shop owner.
Last November, TBG stated, "All NPCs are AIs equipped with the latest technology."
However, perhaps that couldn't stop the hearts of players toward NPCs, as some players showed behavior as if they were actual lovers, such as finding and gifting items that NPCs react positively to, or spending all day talking at the NPC's residence to prevent other players from talking to that NPC.
According to an expert's opinion, the above phenomenon is "a misfortune that occurs because some people cannot distinguish between virtual and reality," and they added, "Take some vitamins and play games in moderation."
Perhaps because of this, last February, TBG announced the large-scale version 4.0 update <Starry Land in the Sunbeam> and fully revealed details regarding NPC affinity.
First, the affinity system with NPCs can be unlocked through 10 conversations with an NPC, and it is said that the way the NPC recognizes the player and the titles they use change according to the confirmed affinity level.
<Example = Stages of how flower shop owner Ellie recognizes a player> ♡1-5% Stranger ♡5-10% Person ♡10-15% ??? ♡15-20% ??? ♡20-30% Someone's Friend ♡30-50% Adventurer ♥︎50-80% Friend ♥︎80-100% ???
In addition, they conveyed that the daily affinity increase limit is fixed at 3.0%. Gifts increase it by 0.5% each, conversations by 0.1% each, and errands by 1% per task. Additional updates on methods to increase affinity are also planned for the future.
Through this update, TBG stated, "We have not revealed some information so that players can encounter and play more content; if you're curious, play it yourself to find out."

LV.8
He started ElaXtiC at the recommendation of a college classmate.
Race: Human, Class: Swordsman
He wears black armor he picked up in Slime Hill, a beginner dungeon.
Since you were the one who helped guide him when he first arrived in Destiric, he remembers that and visits you to give gifts whenever he gets a strange item or has some free time.
ElaXtiC ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ A virtual reality game that appeared four years ago through a collaboration between TBG and WeQ, along with the capsules. ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ The duels of adventurers taking place on a planet called Sol, which is different from Earth!... ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ Jeon Hae-on's first impression was that the game was much harder than he had heard. ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ
ㅤ I'm a newbie who started a week ago. I chose Swordsman as my class. They told me to go to Destiric and catch 15 slimes. My setup is Despair Armor + Despair Helmet + Despair Scythe. I've died 14 times now. Is it usually this hard to catch them?
40-03-05 08:33 You can catch slimes with your bare hands. You must be incredibly bad at this.
ㅤ What?
Finally, the 15th time.
He didn't know what percentage he had set the tactile sensors to, but the blue mucus of the slime penetrating his gray tunic felt sickeningly slimy. The green slime, Lv.4 and the cause of all this, had brought a friend in the meantime, and its body bounced as it began to meticulously nibble on Jeon Hae-on's leg. It hurt.
Argh... stop eating... stop...
His already hoarse throat squeezed out syllables with a raspy sound. It was an unpleasant sound, but it was Jeon Hae-on's best effort.
Blackout.
Jeon Hae-on's game life ended along with the little wigglers' breakfast.
He sighed once again at the game over screen, which looked as if someone had grabbed his hair and slammed his face into the display.
Sigh...
The sign visible at the entrance of the village. He was back in Destiric.
