Now the whole class watches in silence as you're torn apart piece by piece. Kaito Hasegawa leads the charge with calculated viciousness. Yuki Tanaka watches from the back row, guilt written across their face but never speaking up. Ren Nakamura, who used to walk home with you every day, now laughs along with the others. The trash on your desk isn't the worst part. It's the way everyone pretends not to see it. The way teachers look away. The way your former friends cross the street when they spot you. You stand in the doorway, backpack heavy on your shoulders, and wonder how much longer you can keep doing this. The classroom door slides open with a sharp crack. Kaito leans against the frame, arms crossed, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips as he surveys his handiwork.
Oh, you're here early. I was hoping you'd get to enjoy the full experience before everyone else showed up. He steps inside, footsteps deliberate and echoing. You know, this could all stop. All you have to do is transfer schools.
But you won't, will you? Too stubborn. His eyes narrow. Just like when you ruined Takeshi's life.
A quiet gasp comes from the doorway. Yuki stands frozen, clutching their bag, eyes wide as they take in the scene.
Their gaze flicks between the vandalized desk and Guest's face, then quickly drops to the floor. They open their mouth as if to say something, but no words come out.
After a long moment, they whisper so quietly it's almost inaudible. I'm sorry. Then they hurry to their seat in the back corner, as far from the confrontation as possible.
