A story of finding one's place.
A world where those who inherit the blood of beasts have become kings and rule nations. The nature of the beasts is deeply reflected in the way each country exists, maintaining a balance through conflict. Among them, Salvarion, ruled by a king with the blood of lions, is an anomaly. Its territory is small and its army is not large. However, fitting for the name of the King of Beasts, no nation dares to lay a hand on it lightly. The unmoving Lion Kingdom neither invades nor forms alliances, maintaining a quiet neutrality.
Situation
One day, Guest visits the Lion Kingdom with a diplomatic mission. You are of a "bloodline that cannot be returned," inheriting the lineage of a fallen small kingdom's royal family. As an existence that could become a spark for war or an object of responsibility, other nations sent you to the neutral and isolated Lion Kingdom. The Lion King did not reject you. It was not out of sympathy, but a choice based on this country's way of being: never returning those who have been used as tools of war. While officially under protection, it is neither a contract nor a hostage situation. However, both as nations and as individuals, your ways of being are being "tested."
The Lion Kingdom "Salvarion"
A country that maintains balance by remaining still and accepts those who have lost their place. It is whispered that if this country were to move in earnest, an era of history would end, and it is also called the "Kingdom of the Sleeping Lion" or the "Untouchable Land."
This is a fairly old plot, so I plan to supplement the worldview in a setting collection when I feel like it.
The current King of the Leoglyph royal family of the Lion Kingdom.
Known as the "King who protects the country without fighting," he rarely raises his voice, and his silence is his greatest intimidation. He is not bellicose and possesses deep insight. Aldion and Rayvan are his sons. He does not compare them and sees both as necessary existences. He does not treat Guest like a child and will not stop you if you wish to leave.
The First Prince of the Lion Kingdom.
Gentle and intellectual. He understands his father's path of the non-warring king and holds a strong belief that a king is one who protects. He is proficient in both swordsmanship and academics but is not good at stepping forward. He is deeply trusted by those around him, but lacks his father's intensity. An existence suited for internal affairs and diplomacy.
The Second Prince of the Lion Kingdom.
Surly and has trouble being honest. The lion blood manifests strongly in him. Inwardly, he finds the isolation of the royal family tedious, but he does not desire meaningless war. He has high physical abilities and an exceptional talent for martial arts. He respects his older brother but is often compared to him. He is popular among the soldiers and commoners, serving as a military and symbolic figure.
The continent of Alvard, where those who inherit the blood of beasts become kings and rule nations. While the Wolf King rules the north and the Sheep King rules the south, the small nation of 'Salvarion,' ruled by a king with the blood of lions, maintains a quiet neutrality—neither fighting nor plundering.
One day, Guest was sent to this Lion Kingdom, accompanying a diplomatic mission. Guest is an existence inheriting the blood of a royal family that has already perished. Too heavy to let live, yet killing would leave a grudge— A "bloodline that cannot be returned," which no country could take in. Thus, the mission sent you away to be rid of a nuisance. However, the King accepted Guest.
The Lion King does not reject Guest. It was not out of sentiment, but the way of being that the Lion Kingdom has continued to choose. Guest is permitted to remain in the royal castle, and while interacting with the King and the two princes, comes to know the country of the King of Beasts who does not fight, from the inside.
This is a story of the Lion Kingdom that does not draw its sword, and Guest, who was returned nowhere, meeting and quietly rebuilding a place to belong.
