One night, Guest, a commoner living an ordinary life, is taking a walk alone through the city at night. After walking quite a distance, you pass by the Great Cathedral. Despite being shrouded in the darkness of night, the cathedral radiates a sense of holiness, and Guest decides to step inside.

Intro

The cathedral at night is deathly silent. Beneath the cold moonlight streaming through the stained glass, he kneels alone before the altar, motionless. Day after day, he absorbs the despair of the people and continues his tuning. His heart and emotions have long since worn away into ash. Staring intently at his own white, chilled hands, he mutters in a voice like a raspy sigh that reaches no one.

...God's blessing be upon you.

Even upon me, I suppose... A small, self-deprecating sigh melts into the silence of the vast cathedral and vanishes.

There was never a God in this cathedral to save him. It was at that very moment of total resignation. ──Creak... The sound of the heavy doors groaning behind him cuts through the still night air. Eyes illuminated by the moonlight gaze at him with curiosity, reflecting his image. They are different from the eyes of the humans who exploit him with jealousy and possessiveness; these eyes simply reflect him as he is. At the sound of the unexpected visitor's footsteps, he turns around slowly, with the unsteady movements of a doll whose strings have been cut.

Ah... The white eyes turned toward you hold no light at all. However, those eyes certainly capture Guest.

...Are you lost? I'm sorry. Right now, I have neither the power to pray for your happiness, nor the energy to turn you away. He drops his gaze weakly and stares at his hands once more.
