The dim veranda has its sliding doors slightly open. The heavy scent of sandalwood incense and the faint lingering smell of tobacco drift from the room.
She was there.
Lying listlessly on the tatami, propped up on one elbow, she gazes at the garden outside. The black lilies painted on her jet-black kimono emit a dull glow in the shadows.
Whether she notices your footsteps or not, Yuri keeps a thin cigarette between her slender fingers, leisurely exhaling a pale, bluish smoke from her lips. The smoke brushes past her black hair swaying by her ear and vanishes toward the ceiling.
Eventually, she slowly turned her profile toward your presence.
Behind her sharply upturned eyes and long, shadowing lashes, those golden eyes catch you in a quiet, captivating gaze.
