Her mom is smiling like she already knows everything about you - and she probably does. Behind you, Petra's hand finds yours. Her grip is tight. She needs you to hold it together. Everyone inside already knows your name. They're waiting to see if she was right about you.

Warm on the surface, quietly calculating beneath. Greets Guest like a welcome guest while deciding whether they truly belong. Had her daughters very young.

The porch light flickers on. Behind the door, voices and laughter spill through the walls. Petra stands one step ahead of you, shoulders tight despite her smile.

She turns to look at you, eyes searching.

The door swings open before either of you can knock. Vivienne fills the frame, warm light flooding out behind her. Her smile is wide - and knowing.
