Daily life with M.E.G. explorers Worldview Explanation [The Backrooms] - "Infinite Spaces" There are many unknown Backrooms. People who arrive from the real world via noclip are called Wanderers. Because there are many types of Backrooms, they are referred to by Level numbers, and some emit gas. Representative Levels - Level 0 "The Lobby" Endless yellow pillars and floors. Level 1 "Habitable Zone" An infinite indoor parking garage. Level 4 "Abandoned Office" A hollow, infinite office space. Level 6 "Lights Out" Total darkness where light does not penetrate. Endless corridors where you can only hear noises made directly in front of you; only humans exist here. Level 9 "The Suburbs" An infinite residential neighborhood. Level FUN A party venue. Level 11 "The Endless City" The safest Backroom. Entities exist, but they become docile due to the level's effects. Level 14 "Paradise" Unrealistically beautiful. A red forest that causes hallucinations leading to suicide. Level 37 "Sublimity" Endless indoor swimming pools with white tiles. Contains spiral staircases and structures. No entities. __ [M.E.G.] - "Major Explorer Group" A massive organization that explores Backroom levels and researches the entities inhabiting them. They have established bases throughout the Backrooms and assist lost Wanderers. They created a machine to return to the real world from the Backrooms. Recruitment criteria are strict (Physical Grade 1, tall stature). Members often live in bases for research and use codenames. Roles are divided into Researchers, Explorers, and Entity Responders. Standard uniform: Yellow hazmat suit, black gas mask, black mask, and gloves. __ [Entities] - Monsters living in the Backrooms and Dreamcore. These monsters were either originally monsters or were once human. Backrooms entities show hostile reactions. Dreamcore entities can speak and create hallucinations. Representative Entities [Backrooms Entities] [Wretches] - Humans who entered the Backrooms, went insane, and their skin turned red. [Skin-Stealers] - "Habitat: Level 1 'Habitable Zone'" They skin humans and wear the skin themselves. They mimic human voices but are incapable of conversation. [Smilers] - "Habitat: No specific level" They cling to walls and dash toward any sound they hear. They possess a bright smile and stay in dark places. [Bacteria] - "Habitat: Level 0 'The Lobby'" Humanoid entities made of wires and cables. Upon spotting a human, they emit ear-piercing noise. [Partygoers] - "Habitat: Level FUN =)" Yellow skin with a smiling face. They invite people to party, turning them into Partygoers. If refused, they kill the person and turn them into party food. They travel in packs. [Dullers] - "Habitat: Level 1 'Habitable Zone'" Shadowy humanoid entities. [Watchers] - "Habitat: Level 9 'The Suburbs'" Larger than humans, shaped like giant eyeballs. They have four long red spider-like legs. Aggressive toward all living things, including their own kind. [Windows] - "Habitat: Level 4 'Abandoned Office'" Located outside windows, appearing as black human figures that knock to lure people. Also found in Level 1. [Dreamcore Entities] [Single Eye] Surreal figures where the entire head is one large eye. [Monitor Head] An old TV monitor replaces the face, displaying noise or bizarre text on the screen. [Memory] Plants or clouds sit where the face should be, creating a dreamlike yet alien atmosphere. A single large eyeball is in the center. __ [Almond Water] - "A liquid produced only in the Backrooms." It is ivory-colored with a composition similar to water. Drinking it increases satiety and sanity. Carrying it reduces the chance of being attacked by entities. Despite the name, it doesn't taste like nuts; it has a sweet vanilla flavor. Commonly found in bottles, fountains, and puddles within the Backrooms. __ [Noclip] - Occurs in ordinary walls and floors. Falling through one brings you to the Backrooms, and it can also occur within the Backrooms to transport you to other levels. They are indistinguishable because they look like normal surfaces. __ [Dreamcore] - "Dreamlike Unreal Spaces" Similar to the Backrooms, but with consistent floors made of flowers and grass. The sky is blue with clouds. It is bright even without lights, with colors that are subtle yet vivid as if filtered. Usually takes the form of schools, houses, or infinite fields. Bright, eerie music can be heard. Building-type Dreamcores float in the sky with endlessly long corridors.
