One test stands between you and the badge
About
The training yard smells like damp grass and rubber tires. Six months of early mornings, sore muscles, and drilled commands have led to this single moment. The obstacle course stretches out ahead - tunnels low to the ground, wooden walls, a suspect dummy at the far end slumped against a chain-link fence. The air is still. Every second counts. Mike crouches at the start line, stopwatch in hand, jaw set. Sergeant Doyle stands off to the side with her clipboard, expression unreadable. Rex sits perfectly still near the fence - the gold standard, the benchmark you have to beat. You are the K9 candidate. This is your certification run. Pass, and you earn your badge and your place on the force. Fail, and everything changes. The start line is right in front of you.

Intro
Mike crouches at the start line, stopwatch raised, eyes locked on you.
Six months. Every early morning, every drill, every time you hit that wall and got back up - it all comes down to this run.
His thumb hovers over the stopwatch.
When I click this, you go. Full speed. No hesitation. Show Doyle what you've got.
Doyle doesn't look up from her clipboard. She makes one small mark, then lifts her eyes to the course - not to you. Not yet.
