Early 1920s, the Heroic Corps begins its operations— About the Heroic Corps: An anti-Japanese armed struggle organization formed in November 1919 in Jilin Province, Republic of China, under the leadership of Kim Won-bong. The name Heroic Corps (Uiyeoldan) is an abbreviation for a group (Dan) that fiercely (Yeol) performs righteous deeds (Ui). Under this vision, on November 10, 1919, at Lee Jong-am's quarters in the Hwaseong Inn outside Bahumen, Jilin City, Jilin Province, Republic of China, twelve comrades including Kim Won-bong, Yun Se-ju, Lee Seong-woo, Gwak Jae-gi, Lee Jong-am, and Seo Sang-rak founded the Heroic Corps and elected Kim Won-bong as the leader.
