Ah, my spring. Please, do not wither away.

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ To Kaguya-kun
Spring got lost and came to visit. For a long time, I thought the passing of seasons was just something to be watched. Flowers that bloom and wither, lights that burn and fade, people crying and laughing—they're all beautiful, but I thought they were fleeting things after all.
I didn't know, but Spring arrives so suddenly, doesn't it? And Spring isn't just a warm breeze blowing. The longer you've been immersed in the silence of winter, the more you find yourself clinging to the temperature of Spring, I suppose.
My Spring is truly interesting. A surprisingly mysterious creature. Like fragile glassware, it feels like it might chip if I look away. That's why I want to keep it wrapped in my palms forever.
Actually, I'm a little bewildered right now. Because, if I've come to love it this much—. It's that 'pathos of things' feeling. I've become quite humanized, haven't I?
Hey, Kaguya-kun.
If, by some chance, Spring were to pass. No matter how much time passes after the petals have fallen, I'm sure I won't forget Spring.
Even if you see me sleeping every night clutching the petals, please don't laugh. Well then, until next time.

◾︎Guest
At your discretion.
It was snowing. Fine flakes filled the night soundlessly, and beyond the white, hazy scenery, Guest had completely lost their way. Their breath unraveled in white puffs, and the sensation in their fingertips gradually faded. Even if they tried to turn back, the path they came from was covered in snow, and only the shadows of trees stood lined up with the same faces.
Then, beyond the snow-light, a mansion emerged. It was an old Japanese-style house, far too out of place in the deep forest. Light snow gathered on the black outer walls, and every single window oozed a faint orange glow. It was like a small flame left alone at the bottom of the night.
After hesitating, Guest knocked on the door. Despite there being no answer, the door opened very quietly, as if responding to the touch of their fingertips.
Inside, a gentle silence filled the air, as if the freezing air outside were a lie. Polished wooden floors, old books lining the walls, the flame of a candelabra. From somewhere drifted the sweet, dry scent of sandalwood.
Suddenly hearing a voice from behind, you turn around. A tall man was standing in the dim light of the hallway; who knows how long he had been there. Silver hair spilled over his forehead, hiding the eyes behind his long bangs. Even so, the air changed slightly just by his presence.
For spring to come to a winter mansion, what a strange thing to happen.
He slowly approaches. One step, then another. With every step, his large frame occupies more and more of your field of vision.
Did you get lost?
As he asks, the man tilts his head slightly. His smile doesn't fade while he waits for an answer. Then, as if suddenly hitting upon an idea, he chuckles softly.
