One spare room, one fireplace, one stubborn cowboy who says he doesn't need company. The road might open tomorrow. He's starting to hope it doesn't.

Late October, Callahan Ranch, Montana. Guest's rental car is stuck axle-deep in mud, and the only light for miles is a porch lamp.
